Horse Drawn Wagon Rides

Adams Farm is offering horse drawn wagon rides until we get enough snow, then we will have our popular horse drawn sleigh rides. The ride takes you through our sugar lot, onto the hill by the trout pond and to the old log cabin to warm up by the wood burning stoves, have a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy some tunes from the old player piano. Since 2005, Clough has been bringing people of all ages in contact with nature through interactive discussion and hands-on exploration. Rockhopper programs include live animals, special interest multimedia presentations, guided explorations within the local environment and contract presentations for educational institutions and private groups alike. Clough is an avid outdoors man, he has a passion for environmental education, and his love of nature led him to a career in specialized environmental teaching.

Kids 12 and under Grommet Jam Finals

We kick off President’s Week with the finals of our Grommet Jam series for our 12 and under skiers and riders. Coaches and instructors from the Mount Snow Training Center will help out our little jibbers in our Grommet Learning Terrain Park in the morning and at 1pm we’ll have a fun park competition with an awards ceremony to immediately follow. Prizes, individual end of season awards, a huge bib raffle and a giant pizza party for both parents and kids at the Carinthia Base Lodge at 4pm. Cost: $40, limit 70 kids (lift ticket not included).
Torchlight Parade & Fireworks at Mount Snow

Join us as our Mount Snow Ski & Snowboard School instructors will descend the Canyon ski trail in a beautiful torchlight glow. Immediately following we’ll light up the sky with a huge fireworks display. The festivities kick off at 5:45pm. The best place to watch our instructors descend Canyon is between the Clocktower and the Cape House.

A rather new event to the Mount Snow Calendar, the Roller Coaster Event is fun for both families and individuals. It starts with gates at the top of the Roller Coaster trail, then switches to moguls in the middle and finishes with a little freestyle finesse at the bottom.

USASA Southern Vermont Series

The Southern Vermont Region of USASA invades Carinthia at Mount Snow for the weekend. Open events to aspiring skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. Each contest will feature two heats, with competitors 13 and under in the morning, and then our 14+ competitors in the afternoon heat. Two runs per competitor, best 1 run score counts. Saturday 3rd, things get started with a slopestyle course featuring rail features and jump features on The Gulch (last 4 features) terrain park. Sunday 4th, we will get to see some action on the Pipe. Everyone is invited! However in order to compete you must be a USASA member.
Jack Jump World Championships

Grab your Jack Jump and compete in a Dual Slalom on Charlie’s Chase. What is a Jack Jump? It is a seat on a ski!
Lift mechanics used to use it back in the early days of ski resorts when they needed to carry all their equipment. Basically take an old ski and make a seat and attach it to the ski. Sit on it and there is your JJ. Practice though, as this is not for beginners and our Mountain Operations team is pretty good. Prizes and party following the race.

Girls’ Day Out

Women’s Only Freestyle Clinic Returns to Carinthia Park at Mount Snow, VT!
Carinthia Parks at Mount Snow welcomes back Girls’ Day Out, a freestyle snowboarding clinic for female snowboarders aged 12 and up. Girls’ Day Out is for beginner and intermediate park riders, so if you are carving on blue trails or already have some park experience, this event is for you! Learn to slide, jump, spin, and jib in a supportive, no-pressure environment from top female riders and coaches. This year we are really going all out, with the addition of a private park just for the GDO girls, free pizza lunch, and sponsor swag bags for all participants! Space is limited; don’t miss out on all the fun at Girls’ Day Out at Mount Snow.
$40 registration fee includes a full day of freestyle coaching, free pizza party and sponsor swag bag!

The nation's top amateur freestylers ascend on Carinthia. New as of last year, is the addition of skiers to the competition. Tuesday and Wednesday features snowboard slopestyle and pipe. Then we switch gears to the skiers for Thursday and Friday. These athletes will be putting it all on the line to win cash prizes and qualify for FIS level events.

Our annual spring celebration has grown to epic proportions each year as over 5,000 people witnessed guests dressed in costumes skimming ponds, sliding on cardboard, and some great reggae music all in our base area. Live Reggae music kicks things off Friday night at the Snow Barn, continues all day Saturday and Sunday on Cuzzins Deck and reaches a fever pitch on Saturday night with our headliner performance at the Snow Barn. Accompanying the Bud Light ReggaeFest will be our 10th Annual Sink or Skim Pond Skim competition on Saturday and the 5th Annual Duct Tape Derby on Sunday.

The Sink or Skim Pond Skim is easily one of the most entertaining events each season as guests dressed in costume descend Canyon in an attempt to cross our huge 100′ man-made pond in an attempt to win a 2012/2013 Season Pass.*
Sink or Skim Rules:
1) All competitors must register between 10 am and 11am in the Main Base Lodge across from Tony’s Pizza.
2) All competitors MUST be in costume.
3) Costumes must be in good taste. No explicit or offensive costumes will be permitted.
4) No ski poles will be allowed.
5) Judges decision is final.
Max 125 competitors. The Skimming and the Crashing will commence at high noon!
*The Season Pass is a Mount Snow Classic Season Pass and is given to one costumed skier/snowboarder who makes it across and impresses the judges. Judges decision is final.
5th Annual Duct Tape Derby

The Duct Tape Derby has been a welcomed addition to the Bud Light ReggaeFest the last four years and in 2012 look for more sleds and more prizes. We’ve seen man-made sleds including a Log Cabin, Pirate Ship, UFOs, Mystery Vans, Jamaican Bobsleds, Firetrucks and the General Lee all entertain a crowd of thousands as they slide down our tubing hill. This year start your planning early and save those cardboard boxes! Sunday we’ll have a Pit Area at the top of the tubing hill for some final touch ups before a judges panel will look over the sleds and judge them on creativity and design before send them down the hill. JUDGING WILL BEGIN AT 11 AM AT THE TOP OF THE TUBING HILL, THE DERBY WILL BEGIN AT 12 NOON ON THE TUBING HILL!
Whitingham Maple Festival

Seven Whitingham sugar makers open their doors for residents, visitors, and guests. Learn about ‘the art and science’ of Maple syrup and sugar making. Whitingham, known as the birthplace of Brigham Young, has two monuments noting Young’s achievements. The town is located in southern Vermont, about 25 miles north of Greenfield, Massachusetts, and between Bennington and Brattleboro, Vermont.
Eleventh Annual Maple Open House Weekend

The Eleventh Annual Vermont Maple Open House Weekend will be held at sugarhouses throughout Vermont, March 24 and 25, 2012. The Open House Weekend is a celebration of the maple syrup season and an opportunity for the public to visit one or more “sugarhouses” throughout the state to learn about Vermont’s first agricultural crop of the year. Activities during this free event may vary at each sugarhouse. You will have the opportunity to watch maple syrup being made (weather permitting) and to sample pure Vermont maple syrup and other maple products.
Vermont is the largest U.S. producer of maple syrup. There are approximately 2000 maple producers in Vermont.

Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge

The Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge is a season long race series featured at mountains all over the east coast. This year it will call Mount Snow home for the finals featuring over 2000 skiers and riders trying to take home the title. The Glade-iator XXII

Golden Egg Hunt

Keep your eyes peeled for the golden egg as you ride the chair lifts and cruise down the freshly groomed trails. The Golden Egg Hunt is a mountain wide scavenger hunt for the lucky golden egg. Whoever finds the Golden Egg wins a season pass for winter ’12-’13. Make sure to listen for hints as you load the chair lift!
Tough Mudder

Welcome to the “Toughest Event on the Planet”! This event is not a race, but a personal challenge based around camraderie and teamwork. This one-day endurance event is a 9 mile course, consisting of military style obstacles, including snow, mud, water and fire, zig zags throughout Mount Snow’s entire mountain face.

5th Annual Peace Pipe Jam

For the fifth year in a row our park crew will be piling snow at the bottom of Carinthia and will lay out some new features on Memorial Day weekend for everyone to play on. This is a free event with music, BBQ and a chill atmosphere to get your last on snow session in for the season.
Mayfest Arts & Craft Festival

Mayfest is host to some of the finest jewelers, potters and art displays that can be seen anywhere in New England. In addition to quality crafters you will find many of the area’s fine non-profit organizations, all-day entertainment, and multiple children's activities.
Main, School, Silver, and Valentine Streets become pedestrian only thoroughfares for Mayfest, and the streets are filled with fantastic artisans and entertainers.
Booths are arranged so that everyone will be able to sell from two sides of their booths. There will be plenty of space to walk around and much to see resulting in a pedestrian friendly environment.
